Mussels
Each mussel bed can hold up to 200 tons of mussels, a product with Denomination of Origin that takes approximately 18 months to be fit for consumption. It’s one of the Vigo estuary’s star products and in Galicia in general, where more than 220,000 tons are grown per year. The most typical way to eat them is steamed, although in Vigo they’re prepared in dozens of different ways.
