Peto de ánimas

Sculptural elements that are usually found in places of passage or worship and which are linked to rituals dating back to before Christianity. Located next to a receptacle used to hold coins, the Peto represents the souls of the dead waiting in purgatory. They wait for their final judgment and for passerbys to help them redeem their sins.
