Civilian architecture
A journey of Vigo’s history through its architecture
Vigo’s civilian architecture tells the story of the city, from Ancient Vigo through the Romanesque period to contemporary and industrial Vigo.
To visit the most emblematic buildings in the centre of Vigo we recommend Vigo’s Architecture Walks, organized in four thematic itineraries and perfect to discover the details of constructions such as the García Barbón Theatre (currently the Afundacion Cultural Center Theatre), the Real Club Náutico de Vigo Yacht Club, the MARCO Museum, the Casa de Ceta or the Old Town Hall, among many others.
Furthermore, the different neighbourhoods also host important and beautiful examples of Vigo’s civilian architecture, such as the Quiñones de León Pazo-Museum, in Castrelos.
In this section, you’ll find the best examples of Vigo’s civilian architecture and if you're interested in knowing more, feel free to read about Vigo’s historic buildings in the Town Council's official website.
