VIGO GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT

Turismo de Vigo

If you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a real gastronomy trip, Vigo is just the place!

According to the saying, the best time to taste shellfish is during the months written with the letter ‘R’, so this month gives you the perfect excuse to visit Galicia’s largest city!

The Ría de Vigo at the heart of the Rías Baixas, offers an incredible spread of fish and shellfish that will satisfy even the most demanding of gourmets.

The huge selection of restaurants in Vigo provides visitors numerous options which range from the most traditional seafood platter to the more innovative creations of experimental signature cuisine. A visit to the Historical Quarter  and its famous street serving fresh oysters is an absolute must-see. Other recommendations include tasting a dish of mussels from the local mussel rafts, or an exquisite fresh king crab from the bay, served at one of the many local taverns in the unique maritime districts.

And for those keen to find out more and have first-hand experience of the secrets behind the wonderful Galician cuisine, come and take part in a traditional cooking workshop.

          Bon appétit!
