5 PLANS FOR HOLY WEEK IN VIGO

Turismo de Vigo

Seaside Vigo:

Would you like to see how a small fishing town has become the largest and most cosmopolitan city in Galicia? We invite you to learn about our history through the rooms and display stands of the Museum of the Sea and the Museum of the Canning Industry. They will show you all the secrets of a Vigo born and transformed thanks to its water.

If you prefer to delve into the essence of a genuine fishing quarter, take a trip to Bouzas. Its cobbled streets, port and people will make you feel welcome as soon as you arrive. Order a tapa of sardines and try a traditional liqueur in one of the taverns in its historical centre or near the port.

And, of course, don't leave without visiting the Paseo dos Peixes promenade as the sun sets over the Estuary of Vigo.

Natural Vigo:

No one knows what enjoying nature in its purest state means until they have been to the Islands of Cíes. A perfect location for enjoying a day with the family and forgetting about the world in one of its marvellous coves.

You can get there by scheduled transport or you can hire your own boat. One of the bottlenose dolphins that live in the estuary might decide to escort you on your way to the Islands… You can also go on a hiking route or enjoy diving around unique marine seascapes.

Cultural Vigo:

From impressive modernist buildings to archaeological sites, including cobbled streets, Romanesque churches, pazos (typical Galician country homes), defence forts and incredible monuments such as the Sireno.

And what better way to visit monumental Vigo than wandering around its streets? Vigo offers you an array of self-guided urban routes so that you can discover the city on your own and in your own time.

Luxurious Vigo:

Spending a night in a pazo by the sea? Enjoying a spa in the city centre? In Vigo, you can.

You can also fly over the city in a small plain or sail along the Estuary of Vigo in a smart sailing boat.

And before going back to your hotel, our restaurants will serve the very best in Galician gastronomy. From a selection of shellfish to our delicious meats. All accompanied with excellent wines from the Rías Baixas region. The choice is yours.

Adventurous Vigo:

Nothing better for forgetting your daily routine than a spot of adrenaline. In Vigo, you can enjoy adventure sports without having to leave the city. Try skating at Samil, go paddle surfing, spend an afternoon’s paintball with the children or enjoy a ride on a jet ski with your partner.

And to get your strength back, a  tapas or wine route around the city's historical centre: from Praza da Constitución to the area around the Co-cathedral; along Cesteiros or Rúa Real up to Teófilo Llorente...
